BIOGRAPHY

JOSE MARIA PIER Y LOURES, was born to Don LUIS PIER y PASARON, Condes de MONROY, his father and Dña. MARIA JOSE LOURES PONTE, his mother on 18, 1948 (Pier is a well known artist who was born in La Coruña, province of Galicia, Spain).

Pier learmed how to paint from one of the best artists in Spain.  Pier also has a large collection of his own paintings that have been shown in different galleries in Spain.  His first Art Exhibition was in 1971 in Café La Coruña, in 1975 La Coruña, 1976, Puentedeume, 1978 Madrid, 1983 Colectivo de Pintores Gallegos en Lugo, 1984 La Coruña, 1985, Lugo, Bienal (Pontevedra, Villagarcia ), 1986, Riveira and some more later in Coruña. Pier’s paintings are in Brasil, Argentina,Mexico,Usa, Canada, Venezuela, Italy, Luxemburg, Germany, Norway, Switzeland and Spain.

Pier has had a very successful career as an artist and is very well known in Spain For his many fine painting. In 1991 Pier was chosen and given an award by Queen  SOFIA in the Royal Palace in Madrid, Spain stating to be one of the ten best artists In Spain. Pier has Worked with Queen Sofia on her charity organizations donating Several of his painting.

Pier is a member of the Picasso Association in La Coruña Spain. The Picasso association Wrote a book about Picasso , Pier contributed personal information   about  Picasso , Pier contributed personal information about Picasso due to the close frienDship that his family fiad with Picasso’s family. Pier’s grandfather had a good relationship witfh  Done Jose Ruiz Blasco who was Pablo Picasso’s father they ware neighbors in Spain.

Pier retired after 40 years fron Bank Pastor which was founded by Pier’s  grandfather who was one of the founders. Pier recently moved to the V.S. from Spain After falling in love and marrying an American Woman. Pier currently resides in Fort Wayne, Indiana
